Meet Jane

Jane is arguably Burn It’s longest serving member, joining us in the early days back in 2010.  At the start, Jane couldn’t run the length of herself, she has since managed to run 2 half marathons, took part in Men’s Health, climbed Ben Nevis, completed muddy trails events and ran numerous 5/10ks.

My name is Jane and I have been a member of Burn It since 2010 when I decided that I needed to find exercise that I enjoyed.  I went along  to Burn It on my own not knowing what to expect. I had not exercised since I was at school and at the time, I could not run the length of myself. I came home that night totally exhausted but loved every minute of it. 
 
It was hard going but you are encouraged to go at your own pace and no one is ever left behind. It is a really friendly environment and everyone always encourages each other. Not long after I joined I started to suffer from planter fasciitis (sore foot!) which was painful and I could not attend classes for a wee while. Paul kept in touch to see how I was doing and I returned in the February having signed up for the Revolution (10 week fat loss programme) which was the real beginning of my journey. 
 
With the help of the trainers and the other members at the sessions and our team challenges I began to see the difference in my fitness levels and my confidence started to grow. The end results were amazing. One thing I’d say to new members, or potential new members, take it week by week and stick at it. I’ve now been attending for 8 years and have stayed within my original weigh in. I’ve now managed to run 2 half marathons, took part in Men’s Health, climbed Ben Nevis, completed muddy trails events and ran numerous 5/10ks. 
 
2018 has been a bit stop start for me due to personal and family reasons getting in the way. I had set myself a challenge of running an organised race every month this year in aid of Alzheimer Scotland and as a family we have managed to complete with the support of my husband, Dougie. 
 
My daughter Kirsty also comes along to Burn It sessions with me and pushes me every session. 
 
In July of 2018, Paul decided to create the Body Transformation + in which started in August for 10 weeks. This has been an amazing experience and has been the kick start I needed to get back and the results have been amazing.  I’d say to anyone thinking of coming along to join ,don’t be scared, everyone is so supportive and encouraging. I can’t wait to see where my fitness journey goes in 2019 and the results of my 2nd transformation + programme with the support of the trainers and my Burn It friends.
