At the end of our sessions (5 weeks later) I had lost 14% of my body fat and gained 7kgs of lean muscle I was delighted.
I was fed up walking miles every week but not feeling any fitter so I decided to look for personal training sessions, I have had gym memberships off and on for years but found it boring and mind numbing. My walking buddy Becky took some persuading but I was on a mission. Having been to Burn It in the park years ago I decided to look on the website for PT sessions. I messaged Paul and made arrangements to start in September 2017.
It was hard work but fun and Paul kept us motivated and pushed us to our limits….it was well worth it.

I was apprehensive about Burn it In The Park sessions as I didn’t think I was fit enough but I needn’t have worried, there were people of all ages and fitness levels and lots of team spirit and encouragement. Lots of banter thrown in too. I try to go 3 times a week now and can see a vast improvement in my fitness levels. I will never be a great or fast runner but its not about speed its about doing your best and pushing yourself a little more every time.
There’s always lots of encouragement from the class instructors and other members. Every class is different and every instructor does different things so you never know what’s in store. Being outdoors in the fresh air helps too…. you are never cold for long! At the time you think, “Why am I doing this?” …Then when you finish you think, “That was good class tonight!!”
If I can do it, anyone can do it. Give it a go. You might surprise yourself and enjoy it. My journey hasn’t ended yet its just the beginning and I’m looking forward to it!
