My fitness has massively improved and with that has come more confidence in myself and faith in my own abilities to take on challenges that are outside my comfort zone. My advice would be to take the first step … it’s going to hurt but it will bring great things with it.
My first Burn It class consisted of a gruelling run up and down Lion Well Wynd in Linlithgow on a cold, damp dark Friday night. I could have cried with how unfit I felt, gasping for air and the pain in my burning calves. But at the end of the class the endorphins had kicked in and I felt good to have got out the door and made the first step to becoming a fitter, better version of myself.
Week by week I attended classes in Linlithgow, Bathgate and Livingston some nights were a thought to go after a long day at work but I always felt amazing at the end of the class. Also for me I loved the social element, getting out and meeting others rather than sitting home alone. Everyone is so friendly and I have made great friends at the classes who I look forward to catching up with each week. I have taken part in a Body Transformation programme, Running Club and Super Burn It Events all of which have kept me on track with improving and strengthening my fitness levels.
Now I would not be without my Burn It classes. Paul, John, Marcella and Mark are great at keeping everyone motivated and mixing up the classes to keep us all entertained.

8 months after joining Burn It I signed up to climb Kilimanjaro!!! Burn It classes have been a major part in my training for this. This was my biggest mental and physical challenge to date. The walking and the altitude was not the only challenge, the packing light and camping is tested me just as much. I also managed to raise £1,555.00 for Chest & Heart Stroke Scotland!
